PFM's Summer Camp for Skaters, Referees, and NSO's!
PFM is a fun, safe, and low commitment recreational roller derby league! PFM has been training new skaters and referees roller derby since 2005 and now we're excited to announce our first Summer Camp!

All you need is your gear and we'll teach you the rest! No experience necessary, 20 years since you skated? No problem! Never, still no problem! Teaching skaters is what we do.

If you don't have gear, email pfmrollerderby@gmail.com and we can help guide you in what to get and places to get it from. We also have a new gear loaning program, but supplies are limited. We do not lend helmets or mouthguards.

Gear:
- Mouthguard (most need to be molded in hot water pre wear, more skaters prefer the thinner SISU type mouthguards to speak and drink as they have to stay in at all times - they are for prevention of concussions not really to save teeth.) They are optional for referees.
- Properly fitting helmet (snug on the head and snug chin strap, preferably certified.)
- Hard-shelled and snug fitting knee pads.
- Hard-shelled and snug fitting elbow pads.
- Hard-shelled and snug fitting wrist-guards.
- Quad skates with toe stops** (Skaters also tend to prefer a rubber toe stops and wheels as opposed to hard plastic types. Newer skaters prefer an 88A wheel.)
*Referees will also need a Fox 40 whistle and vertically striped black and white top.
*NSO's do not need gear.

It's 5 weeks, 5 Saturdays from 12-2. $65 for skaters and referees, free to NSO's (Non-Skating Officials will be invited to two of the 5 sessions: 9/2 & 9/16)

We will begin with skating basics, add derby basics, and end in a safe and fun learning scrimmage. It will be WFTDA rules based. Experienced coaches from many local leagues will be there to train you, due to working with different leagues you will get a glimpse into the many league styles.

Who can come? Skaters, who identify as female (or are female and identify as they/them) 18 and up. Referees, gender inclusive 14 and up. NSO's are also gender inclusive and any age that can handle the responsibility of the positions.

If you have any questions, please email pfmrollerderby@gmail.com and we'll promptly help you.
