Roarke Menzies is a New York City-based artist and composer who uses his voice, mouth and body, along with audio hardware, software and field recordings, to create electronic and electroacoustic sound works. His music has been described by The New Yorker as a layered electronic throb, coming and going, always enhancing but never overpowering. Menzies released his fourth solo recording, Breaths Length, on his own Coup de Glotte label in June 2017.
Whether its his ragtime-grounded acoustic meditations, his rollicking slide explorations, or his harrowing electric sound walls, there is a mysterious clocklike mechanism underlying the guitar work of David Kamm. In Saudade (2014, Made To Feel Records), Brooklyn-based Kamm creates intricate acoustic timepieces that mesmerize. With power trio A/D, Kamm un-ironically conjures the core truths of rock. A deep knowledge of Americana and early country flavor his slide meanderings. His solo instrumetnal work offers a blend of primitive blues and raga-inspired improvisations. David also plays guitar and lap steel with Stills, Pale Mara and Factory Edge. A/D will be playing their yearly gig in August 2017.
