Kyle Phelan, King Taylor Project, & Nick Crook @ Lestat's

Kyle Phelan returns to San Diego! Kyle was a local San Diego musician for the better part of his early career in music. He will be performing, with King Taylor Project as his backing band, songs from his newest album Family as well as some old favorites.

Sandi King and Joshua Taylor formed King Taylor Project in 2016 in San Diego, California. Initially conceived as a flexible soul/blues/jazz platform featuring an expandable roster of support musicians, KTP has evolved into a collaborative band that celebrates the songwriting instincts of all its members. Sandi and Josh are joined by core members David Ryan "davyrockett" Norgren, Josh Weinstein, Jay Chu, and Eric Strickler. KTP cherishes their extended musical family and has provided live and studio backing support for other artists as well as having been supported by other great musicians on stage. They tour and record independently and co-host and produce The About!... Podcast, a comedic arts/entertainment show primarily featuring guests from the music industry.

Nick Crook is a San Diego staple, since his move here from Texas in 2013 he has been extremely active in the local singer/songwriter scene. Crook was the Grand Prize Winner of Heartbeat Music Academys Inaugural Live Your Dreams Talent Show in 2014, 2nd place winner at the Annual Singer/Songwriter Competition at the San Diego County Fair and the winner of Gigtowns Jingle Contest, both in 2015. Winning the jingle contest gave Nick the opportunity to play for arriving guests at the private annual charity event Rock The Cure, where he was the opening act for the legendary Steve Miller of the Steve Miller Band. Miller listened to one of Nicks own songs, which he referred to as a smart song which was written and performed beautifully. Nick went on to perform again in 2016's Singer/Songwriter Competition at the County Fair, in which he took 3rd.
