Ward Hayden & The Usual Suspects / Jay Bragg
Ward Hayden fronts popular Americana/Country band Girls, Guns & Glory.
Jay Bragg moved to Nashville, TN on a quest that started with a late night question. What would it sound like if Merle Haggard wrote music with Ed Sheeran?
Bragg spent the previous decade writing and recording classic country music and touring relentlessly with his previous band North of Nashville. Shortly after winning New England Music Awards Country Act of the Year in 2015, he packed up his guitar and life in rural Maine and followed his curiosity to Nashville.
Determined to blend a love of Haggard and Springsteen with a refreshed interest in pop artists like Sheeran and Mayer, Bragg got to work collaborating with songwriters outside of his country wheelhouse. After a solid year of writing daily and performing weekly in Nashville, Bragg and his cowriters had built a batch of songs that felt a little different than the music being released inside and outside Music Row.
It was off to the recording studio. On May 19, 2017, Jay Bragg released a pair of singles ahead of his forthcoming debut record. The tracks Shes My Song and The Cost are available wherever music is heard. Listening at high volumes is recommended.
