Sound Healing Concert with Scott Martin, Rica Potenz, and Joseph Lamar
Pianist Scott Martin will be joined by sound healer Rica Potenz playing Tibetan prayer bowls, gong, and percussion, and vocalist Joseph Lamar in a sound healing concert. This will be a meditative and creative musical experience that will energize and align the 7 chakras, the body's energy field, and produce an overall sense of well being. Join us for a relaxing and inspiring evening at the historic Louisville Center for the Arts in old town Louisville, CO, Saturday June 24, 2017 at 7:30 pm, 801 Grant Avenue Louisville, CO 80027. Tickets $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
The concert will be presented in a beautiful art gallery space where the audience is invited to bring yoga mats, cushions, pillows and blankets to make themselves comfortable either resting on their backs, sitting in mediation, or on chairs around the perimeter of the room.
The music will be a free flowing improvisation based on the tones of the Tibetan pray bowls and Gong, enhanced and embellished by piano and vocal interplay. The concert will begin by intoning, a series of 7 crystal prayer bowls, each tuned to the frequency of a specific chakra. The vibrations of the bowls have a surprisingly powerful effect on calming and reducing the tension of the body and mind, and the musical improvisation that accompanies will take you on a journey.
Scott Martin is a Louisville based jazz pianist and composer who worked as a studio musician in NYC and has taught at local universities and schools. Rica Potenz is a sound healer who performs often at yoga studios and Joseph Lamar is a Denver based singer/songwriter and actor who performs at Dazzle Jazz Club and other venues and was recently in Porgy and Bess at the Aurora Fox.
This event is not appropriate for small children or older children who are not able to sit quietly during an acoustic music concert
