Pain, Pleasure, Passion & Resurrection
Sine Nomine choral ensemble Daniel P. Ryan, Artistic Director
Sunday, April 30 3:00pm St. Michael's Episcopal Church 399 Hope St. Bristol RI
From the pleading depths of despair to moments of soaring adoration, composers have long been inspired by the spiritual reaches of human emotion. This program threads epic sacred and secular masterpieces of the Renaissance and Baroque together with more modern pieces resurrecting the tradition. Each work offers a different sense of consonance and dissonance, from plea to celebration pain to pleasure. Centuries of choral music exploring the sacred and secular, transcending all that is human, and reaching beyond. Works by Bach, Palestrina, Pärt, Purcell, Casals and more.
Senior and student discounts available at the door with ID.
Also to be performed in Fairhaven, MA Saturday, April 29 7:30pm Unitarian Universalist Society of Fairhaven 102 Green St. Fairhaven MA
