Dirty Dollhouse: The female folk trio Dirty Dollhouse is the music of singer-songwriter Chelsea Mitchell and vocalists Vanessa Winters (of The Lawsuits) and Amber Twait. The group's signature sound comes from century-spanning influences, simple instrumentation, and layers of harmony. Their debut EP, "25 Shades" was released in 2014.
"Singer songwriter seems too generic a label for show starter Chelsea Mitchell, but her vocals deserve more spotlight than simply deeming her folk. Instantly, with the help of backing singers Amber Twait and Vanessa Winters (her sisters in Dirty Dollhouse), the room was gracefully filled with lived-in harmonies, a compliment to her earnest a Capella peaks." - Alexandra Fletcher, Tri State Indie.
Former Belle: Since its start in the winter of 2010, Former Belle has taken on many different outfits, all led by frontman, Bruno Catrambone. The project self-released a full band EP entitled, Sounds From The Ground. The release helped the band mark themselves as a newcomer in the Philadelphia music scene. Former Belle backed their first release with multiple regional tours as well as a five-week European tour. This helped to shape the project into its new-found home of both full band and solo performances. After a year-long break while Catrambone pursued his other project, CRUISR, Brunos downtime between tours, as well as writing on the road, led him to collect new songs mixed with revisited old material to form a new EP out now on Randm Records.
Caroline Reese: Caroline Reese grew up in Reading, Pennsylvania, where the rust belt meets Amish country. Her mom ran a horse farm and her dad sold antiques, two facts which inform the old-soul tendencies in her songs.
She and her band, the Drifting Fifth, combine elements of country, folk, and indie-rock with Reeses lyrics that seem to reach far beyond her own life experiences. Their new album, Tenderfoot, released January 6, 2017, deals with vulnerability in life and love. Tenderfoot was recorded at the Headroom Philadelphia (Hopalong) and mixed at Miner Street Recordings (Kurt Vile, War on Drugs, Sharon Van Etten).
Reese wrote her first album, Indian River, in 2010 while she was living in Montana. After returning back to Pennsylvania, she met her electric guitarist and bandmate, Mark Watter, in a college songwriting class, and they collaborated during the recording of Reeses 2013 album, Slow Code. They formed Caroline Reese & the Drifting Fifth shortly after.
Since then, she and the Drifting Fifth have toured nationally and opened for Grammy nominees and winners including Chris Stapleton and Brandi Carlile. Reese has also opened up for americana stalwarts John Hiatt, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Corb Lund, and the Secret Sisters. The groups live EP The Electric Year was named Y102's 2014 Album of the Year and the group was part of Taco Bell's 2016 Feed the Beat roster.
