Mark Dvorak - Friday July 14, 2017
Tickets: $20 in advance/$25 at the door. Dvorak is a folk singers folk singer who follows unerringly in the footsteps of Woody Guthrie (whose birthday were celebrating) Lead Belly, Big Bill Broonzy and Art Thieme. With hundreds of songs in his repertoire, he is an entertainer whose performances are marked with a clear knowledge of his music and art, and also with an understanding of what a given audience is ready to listen to. His natural style of performing can make an old song sound new and a new song sound familiar. Entertaining warmth, sincerity, distinctive talent and variety in presentation have distinguished Mark Dvorak as one of todays important folk artists.
When not on the road, he teaches at Chicagos Old Town School of Folk Music, where hes been on faculty since 1986. He has given concerts in almost all of the United States and has made visits to Finland, Canada and Ireland. To date, Dvorak has released sixteen albums of traditional and original music, including Waterbugs acclaimed Time Aint Got Nothin On Me.

ABOUT THE INDIANAPOLIS PROPYLAEUM The Propylaeum is located in Indy's old northside neighborhood. It includes an 1890 Victorian House and Carriage House that are listed on the National Register of Historic Landmarks. Concerts are held in the Carriage House behind and south of the mansion. The Carriage House is an intimate venue holding up to 130 people, and there's not a bad seat in the house. Seating is general admission.
Enter the free parking lot off Delaware Street, immediately north of the mansion. Free street parking is also available. www.propindy.org
