Victor Wooten Vix Camps Benefit Show
A 5 time Grammy-Award winning musician, Victor Wooten is famous for pushing the boundaries of the bass guitar via his lightening fast thumb-technique, his funky bass lines, and his pyrotechnic solos. As a composer, however, he has also written numerous songs that display similar high-level techniques but with a softer approach to his instrument. From songs like More Love, Aris Eyes, and Sometimes I Laugh to his more recent concerto compositions, Victor demonstrates just how broad his skills are as a songwriter. Come spend an intimate evening with Victor as he explains the stories behind those songs, how he approaches composing music with the bass guitar, and what inspires him creatively. All ticket proceeds will go to Victors music camps. Check out our website www.firstdistrictcoffeeco.com for updates on special guests that will be joining him.
Victor Wootens Center for Music and Nature seeks to enrich the lives of people of all ages from around the world by providing educational programs that foster knowledge, self-reflection, confidence, and proficiency in the arts. Through highly interactive programs on topics such as music, nature, teaching, and creativity, we aim to enhance our students abilities in these specific areas with tools that can be used to enrich their personal lives as well. Located on the Duck River outside Nashville, TN, the peaceful and natural environment provides a perfect backdrop for introspection, discovery, and community all of which help students identify and appreciate their individual greatness and potential. What does the world need with just another good musician? We have plenty. What the world needs are good people! ~ Dorothy Wooten Adhering to the wisdom of Victors mother, our unique programs are laced with discussions, games, and exercises designed to open our minds to new ideas and awaken our senses in ways that not only enhance our musical lives, but our personal ones as well. We believe that the time spent improving any skill or craft should also improve our character in ways that help make us (and those around us) good people.
