Pianist David Lanz

It's been awhile since Seattle native, the Grammy nominated pianist David Lanz, came to town.

On stage this time out, Lanz will focus on new solo piano music from his latest CD, "Norwegian Rain", as well as highlights from his best know works. Later in the evening Kristin Amarie, who also co-composed "Norwegian Rain", may join him for a song or two showing us her masterful vocal work, and a possible debut of a new song from a future release may be in the offing.

As of late David and his musical partner and wife, Kristin Amarie, have moved from Seattle, to New York, a year in France, a few months in Norway in between moves, and finally Cyprus where they now call home. Guess it is obvious that they are not afraid of a challenge. In fact they seem to embrace challenges like most of us embrace our day to day lives. It's just what they do.

Since meeting five short years ago, the couple have recorded two collaborations, Forever Christmas (2014), Silhouettes of Love (2015), two solo efforts, Amarie's Notes from a Journey (2013), Lanz's Movements of the Heart (2013) and in November of 2016, David Lanz released his latest solo piano recording, Norwegian Rain.

Over the past several years they have stayed close to their homes in France and Cyprus, but a short NW tour is in the works for early 2017.
