The Grand Hall at Workshop13 is proud to present an intimate evening of rockin' blues with the featured headliner legendary blues man James Montgomery and his full band right here in the heart of Massachusetts on January 20, 2017. When blues legend James Montgomery plays the harmonica, he brings it on home. Whether its recording with Kid Rock, sitting in with Gregg Allman, or fronting his hot band of thirty years, Montgomery plays with authority. While growing up in Detroit he learned first-hand from the masters James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, and Jr. Wells at the legendary Chessmate. Over the years, hes carried on in the tradition and continues to be a vital presence in Blues as one of the most dynamic performers on the scene.
The opening band for James Montgomery is J-MAC Blues Band. If you were lucky enough to hear them perform at The Grand Hall a couple of months ago then you know they are a group with soul. And if you love the blues then you probably heard them J-MAC was around from the 70s to the 90s.
Then 2-1/2 years ago original founding member lead vocalist and harpist Ronny Jamack, along with R&B guitarist Mike Foley, joined Bill Parker, with skilled rhythm and blues drummer Gary Brisbois, and veteran lead bassist Brian Arsenault to form the new J-MAC Blues Band.
Sit back and enjoy because youre in for a kind of bluesy, strung with a rock & roll vibe, awesome kind of musical night.
