Come join us from 6:00-9:00pm Monday, November 14th at the Grand Cinema in Tacoma for a screening of the 2015 film Ixcanul! There will be a 25 minute panel discussion following the film. Admission is free, but a 10$ donation is suggested and appreciated.
Ixcanul tells the story of a young Guatemalan woman, María, at odds with her cultural tradition and the modern world. Seventeen-year-old María once dreamed of travelling to the United States, but after a shocking change of events, she is forced to reevaluate her situation. Director Jayro Bustamante leaves audiences speechless with this masterfully crafted film.
We hope you will join us for this special event!
