Essex MA, October 7th and 8th The Surrealist Cabaret 2016

Western Massachusetts based art collective, The Royal Frog Ballet, is bringing their annual Surrealist Cabaret to the east side of the state for the first time by way of Alprilla Farm in Essex, MA! The Surrealist Cabaret is a walking performance and installation event that travels audiences through gorgeous farm landscape at autumnal sunset. Along the way they encounter a surreal collection of short stories, dance, sculpture, music, and roving characters that explore and celebrate themes of season, place, and what it means to be human in these times.

Outdoor performances of The Surrealist Cabaret will take place at Alprilla Farm in Essex, MA, beginning promptly at 5pm on Friday and Saturday October 7 and 8. A folky, comedic and ritualistic evening for all ages. Tickets can be purchased here in advance or at the door. On Sunday, October 9th the collective will participate in the HonkFest Parade at 12:00 pm starting in Davis Square, Somerville, MA.

The Royal Frog Ballet is a collective of performance and visual artists, who collaborate to create landscape based work that blends ritual and humor to create a wacky brand of conceptual folk art built for fields, puddles and woodlands. They take inspiration from season, magic, and the everyday. Originally based in western Massachusetts, they now rest their heads across the nation, but come together to create work several times a year.

BONUS: On Sunday, October 9th the collective will participate in the HonkFest Parade at 12:00 pm starting in Davis Square, Somerville, MA. FREE and open to the public!
