World renowned classical guitarists Alfredo Muro, Felicity Muench & Kevin Garry will present a concert Alfredo Muro & the O Trio Magico-Music of Ibero-Latin America" sharing their great musical passions the rich folkloric traditions and the signature styles of Latin America & Spain for an evening of passionate and vibrant music to stir the heart! Music by Moreno Torroba, Barrios, Celedonio Romero, Jobim, Piazzolla, Powell, Pixinguinha, Ronald Dyens and more!!
Enjoy an evening of fiery, sensuous, jazz-flavored playing by internationally acclaimed classical guitarist Alfredo Muro, playing from Argentine tangos, Spanish music, to the subtle Bossa Nova, to lively Sambas, rhythmic Choros, romantic Samba-cancao, elegant Valsas Brasileiras (Brazilian waltz) and powerful and dark AfroSambas!!! He will present music from his new CD "Guitarra Apasionada"
Alfredo Muros career as a musician has not stopped rising since. Over the years he has performed throughout Latin America, the United States and Europe (Italy, Germany, Norway, Austria, Brazil,Chile, Argentina, Peru) He was the featured artist at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. in 2007, Organization of American States OAS as well as The Smithsonian Museum, representing Peru at The IV Ibero-American Guitar Festival. He performed at a special audience for the late Pope John Paul II at the Vatican.
An active teacher since 1973, Felicity Muench has a private studio of over fifty students. She is also an affiliate guitar profesor at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood. In 1995, she founded the Boulder Guitar Society at whose functions she frequently lectures and performs.
Ms. Muench holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Arts degree from California University at Northridge. She has been selected to perform in master classes with renown guitarist Andres Segovia, Pepe Romero, John Duarte and Alice Artzt.
Kevin Garry, Professor of Music at Front Range Community College, is an award winning guitarist of numerous accomplishments. After taking an interest in the classical guitar at an early age, Kevin quickly went on to place in several national guitar competitions, including the Northwest Guitar Festival in Portland OR., the Classical Guitar Competition in Seattle, WA., and the Allied Arts Competition in Spokane, WA.
As a featured soloist, Dr. Garry has performed with the Colorado Music Festival in Boulder, CO, The MahlerFest, in Boulder CO, and the Evergreen, Washington, and Aurora, Colorado orchestras.
