The Legendary Frankie Bones at Cowfish Thursday July 7 w/Kitty Trap!
\\\\\\\\\Funderground Events presents Frankie Bones/////////
Frankie Bones is one of the inventors of Bass, Techno, and House music as we now know it! Also famous for coining the term "PLUR", Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect, as well as the creation of house anthems "The Future is Ours" and "My House is Your House (and Your House is Mine), we are very proud to welcome him to Cowfish for a very special and rare appearance! Opening up for Frankie we have Kitty Trap, our Thursday resident dj duo who have been blowing up Thursday nights with their hi-energy trap-infused take on electronic dance music. Producers as well as DJs, these guys have a creative and uplifting approach to mixing that has had our dancefloor bouncing for the last half-year!!

"Frankie Bones was the first DJ coming out of NYC during the late 80's with the vision of what was yet to be seen on the global front of Electronic Dance Music culture. His early mission came in the many releases of Fourth Floor Records and Nugroove Records. In a time when timing meant everything, the buzz of his early works caught the attention of the rapidly growing scenesters in the London Orbital M25 raves during the Summer Of Love in 1988.

Those early "Bonesbreaks" vinyls led Frankie to playing at a rave called "Energy" which had 25,000 people. With the scene already reaching critical mass, Bones had set off a fierce bidding war between XL Recordings and Deconstruction, which led to two albums by Musto & Bones.

The U.K. was very impressed by Frankie's unique Brooklyn style which was a raw-freestylish-bass-in-your-bass-bins-but-electro-bass style that was raw enough to keep the entire scene and industry at bay, waiting for the underground to bubble over. With gigs, remixing and production work pouring in by the truckload, Frankie ventured out into the early European scene playing key breaking parties in France, Holland, Italy, Denmark and Germany. Each country taking note of his style and wanting to license music.

From all the success in Europe, a booking would follow in Los Angeles based strictly on his success in Europe. In fact the L.A. promoters did not understand where the Brooklyn accent was coming from? But the West Coast scene had just started and Frankie held down Bi-Monthly events in London, L.A. and in NYC." -Insomniac

And here's how Frankie's Wikipedia reads:
"Frankie Bones (real name Frank Mitchell) is an American techno and house music disc jockey from New York City. He is best known for bringing the rave culture to the United States after playing at a hangar party in the United Kingdom during 1989.

Frankie Bones, one of the founders of the New York and US techno scenes, got his first inspiration from his father's vast record collection after his father was murdered. Later on, after he had begun producing records, he was offered a gig to play for 5,000 people in England called "Energy" on the strength of his compositions. As the event started on August 26, 1989, the projected attendance had gone through the roof and Frankie played to 25,000 people while the sun came up.

Being profoundly moved by the experience, he brought it back to Brooklyn in the form of his series of Storm Raves. The Storm Raves events began with only a few hundred people in attendance growing to over 5,000 where the likes of Josh Wink, Doc Martin, Sven Väth, The Horrorist, DJ Keoki and Richie Hawtin were able to launch their performances into international careers.

During this period Frankie is credited with being the creator of the Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect (PLUR) ideology. In response to a fight that broke out at one of his epic Storm Raves in New York City, Bones is said to have got on the microphone and yelled: If you dont start showing some peace, love, and unity, Ill break your faces."

The Berlin Love Parade, which is generally considered to have been the largest techno festival in the world, named its 1991 and 1992 Parades after well-known compositions by Frankie Bones  "The Future is Ours" in 1991 and "My House is Your House (And Your House is Mine)" in 1992.

His brother, Adam X, is also a techno DJ and producer, and their colleague Heather Heart is a DJ and music writer/zine maker who helped create the community for underground techno music in New York and Beyond. Frankie Bones, Adam X, Heather Heart and others are associated with the record label Sonic Groove. He co-owned, with Adam and Heather, a record store with the same name as his label at 41 Carmine St in New York City, where it had relocated to a Brooklyn location in 1995. The shop closed in 2004.
