INFO:
DRIVIN' N CRYIN' :
An American hard rock/Southern rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. The band was formed in 1985 in Atlanta. Kevin Kinney hooked up with Frank French at Frank's recording studio, "Dragon Path Music" working on his original songs there at night & working at times at Frank's shop "Far East Futon Company" in Atlanta. Kevin also hooked up with Tim Nielsen, who was in a popular band called the Nightporters with drummer Paul Lenz at the time. Kinney had just moved to Georgia from Milwaukee and was working in a sewage treatment plant by day while playing folk gigs by night. The bands name, Drivin N Cryin, was chosen from one of Kevins many songs that reflected the two directions of their music. http://www.drivinncryin.com/
"Crunching Hard work is the drivin part, brittle countryish balladry the cryin, with the two linked by a heavy dose of Led Zeppelinphilia. If Paul Westerberg had grown up worshipping Angus Young instead of Alex Chilton, The Replacements might have sounded something like this Atlanta Band." - Rolling Stone Magazine
STRAIGHT TO ALE BREWERY: Straight To Ale is a 10,000 square foot craft brewery, located in Huntsville, AL, with a taproom that serves samples and pints of Straight To Ale beer brewed on site. Taproom is open Mon 5-8, Wed/Thu 3-8, Fri/Sat 3-10, Sun 12-8. Free brewery tours every Saturday at 2 PM. Why the name "Straight to Ale"? Well, brewery owner, Dan Perry had an idea while attending a homebrew festival in Chattanooga, Tenn. Southern rock band Drivin and Cryin was crooning their irreverent hit, Straight To Hell, and I was drinkin beer, and it just kind of went together, Perry said. The Huntsville native named his homebrew shed Straight To Ale, and, the rest, is history." http://straighttoale.com/
