Arlene Francis Center Presents a Benefit for Verity
The Arlene Francis Center presents a benefit for Verity - Sonoma County's sole rape crisis, trauma and healing center. A Night of Music and Education in Recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month. Featuring The Dollhouses, Survival Guide, Snow Angel (acoustic), Kristen Pearce, Belly Dancing by Pauline Persichilli, and opportunities for education and outreach with Verity!
The proceeds from ticket & drink sales will benefit Verity directly!It will be a night of fun & community change!
The Arlene Francis Foundation, formed by Arlene's son Peter Gabel, conducts nonprofit educational programs, cultural events & other charitable community-oriented activities at its Center in Sonoma County, California.
Verity is Sonoma County's ONLY rape crisis, trauma and healing center. We have been a non-profit in Sonoma County for 42 years and provide services through grants and donations. April is Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month which is why we want to hold a benefit show during this time!
We provide our services to anyone in Sonoma County who has been directly or indirectly affected by sexual violence or trauma regardless of age, gender, orientation, ability or culture.
We provide bilingual 24/7 crisis intervention including a staff and volunteer network that answer our 24/7 crisis hotline, and accompany and advocate for clients during law enforcement interviews, sexual assault exams and court appointments.
We also provide through a network of staff and volunteers community prevention education workshops. In K-12 and college classrooms we provide workshops and presentations including healthy relationships, body rights, consent, bullying, teen violence, self-esteem, & more. Which also includes a specialty program Coaching Boys Into Men which teaches healthy masculinity to sports team in partnership with their coaches and presentations in juvenile hall and probation camp.
Verity also has in-house individual counseling for survivors and support groups including a womens survivors of sexual assault, men & womens military sexual trauma, survivors of human trafficking and Spanish-speaking survivors & families support groups. They provide free individual counseling to active duty military and veterans who are survivors of military sexual trauma.
Lastly, they are part of the Human Trafficking Task Force and provide services to victims of Human Trafficking including prevention, education, and counseling. They also have a part-time human trafficking advocate who works directly with clients.
The proceeds we raise will help Verity to continue to provide these services to Sonoma county community members and end sexual violence in Sonoma County! To learn more go to: ourverity.org
