Come join Animal Law Review for an engaging discussion on the intersection of animal interests and business interests in the law. This Symposium will address animal-related issues embedded in U.S. and international trade regulations, with emphasis on the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, and horse trade issues here in the U.S.

Presentation topics will include - An Assessment of Recent Trade Law Developments from an Animal Law Perspective with a Focus on GATT, SPS, and TBT, - Trophy Hunting Contracts: Unenforceable for Reasons of Public Policy, - Animal Provisions in Free Trade Agreements: What Weve Learned from Past FTAs and Stand to Gain (or Lose) from TPP and TTIP, - "Bio-synthetics: A Venture Capitalist Approach to Conservation" - Exploring the Viability and Legality of Displacing Illegal Wildlife Markets With Bio-synthesized Products, and more.
Additionally, Lewis and Clark Law Professors Steven Johansen and Russ Mead will present an Ethics workshop.
This event is seeking accreditation for 3 General CLE credits and 1 Ethics CLE credit.
Registration will open at noon. Event will run from 1pm to 5:45pm. Reception to follow.
