JCC Chicago Jewish Film Festival - It Happened in Saint-Tropez
The smash hit at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, It Happened in Saint-Tropez, is a romantic comedy full of mix-ups and betrayals involving a family of opposites.
The film tells the story of two brothers Zef and Roni (played by Eric Elmosnino and Kad Merad, both well-known film stars in France) who have very little in common. Family feuding ensues when Zef, a born-again Jewish violinist, travels to Paris for his wife's funeral. Her coffin winds up being taken to the over-the-top wedding reception of Roni's daughter. Meanwhile, in a chance encounter, Zef's daughter falls in love with a stranger on the train ride from London. Unbeknownst to her, the man is her cousin's fiancé.
The film has an all-star international cast that includes Irvy Gitlis (the legendary Israeli violinist) as the aging head of the family and "Bond girl" Monica Bellucci (Spectre and The Matrix films).
