Chandelier Productions presents: Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party A Benefit for Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets (PSKS)
Book, Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa Based on the poem by Joseph Moncure March Directed by Georgina Spelvin
With our current site-specific musical production of Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party, Chandelier Productions creates a permeable space between performers and partygoers as they experience a 1920s prohibition party. With this environmental theatrical experience, spectators are invited to not only view the party as a fly on the wall, but to engage and play with performers throughout the evening. Within the world of the show, there will be both moments to watch and moments to play.
Based on the 1928 book-length poem by Joseph Moncure March, The Wild Party is a seedy Jazz Age narrative about the gin-soaked debauch chez of Queenie and Burrs, a vaudeville siren and her abusive lover, as they throw a decadent and deadly all-night party to end all parties. Andrew Lippa's Wild Party was an off-Broadway gem that garnered an array of industry accolades, including Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, & Obie awards.
Performances are April 1-2 & 8-9 at the historic Georgetown Ballroom (5623 Airport Way S, Seattle, 98108).
