Don Giovanni
On February 4th, The Floating Opera Company will open their 2016 season with a chilling retelling of Mozart's DON GIOVANNI. This new site-specific production will be staged in the crematorium of the Bohemian National Cemetery, one of two sister crematoriums in the world: the other located in the Czech Republic, where DON GIOVANNI premiered in 1787. This historic landmark provides the perfect eerie setting for the haunting tale of the legendary anti-hero, womanizer, and murderer - the ultimate, remorseless embodiment of extreme entitlement and privilege.
Five audience members will have the opportunity to participate as supernumeraries in each performance, joining the Floating Opera Ensemble for the Act II cemetery scene and finale.
Your $25 ticket to this unique night at the opera includes comfortable seating in the heated crematorium, refreshments, and parking. Curtain is 7:30 p.m. and gates open at 7 p.m. for all performances:
Thursday, February 4th Friday, February 5th Saturday, February 6th
(Cover Performance on February 7th at 3pm, Lincoln Park Presbyterian Church)
