Syrian Refugee Benefit Concert feat: Meghan Yates and the Reverie Machine, Strong Sun Moon
On December 19th, 2015 the burgeoning PT Music Project produces their second show: a Benefit Concert for Syrian Refugees, featuring the powerfully tranquille Strong Sun Moon (Port Townsend) and the other-worldly Meghan Yates & the Reverie Machine (Bellingham). Sponsored by Toolshed Soundlab and Room To Move Yoga with desserts by Pané D'Amore. All proceeds go to Starfish Foundation to aid the relief of the refugee crisis in Molyvos, Lesvos, Greece. No one Turned away.
About the crisis: Every day the small town of Molyvos, Lesvos (Greece) receives up to 5,000-8,000 refugees who have escaped, mostly from Syria. Crammed by the hundreds on rickety inflatable rafts, they cross the cold and treacherous waters of the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece, the same distance between Whidbey Island and Port Townsend. With no organized services available, the people of Lesvos have created Starfish Foundation: a grassroots network that provides basic necessities such as water, food, dry clothing, blankets and rudimentary medical care. It is difficult to imagine the courage of these people fleeing with their lives, and the volunteers who are working around the clock to provide relief. We offer a night of music and solidarity, sending a beacon of support from our beloved Port Townsend.

About the musicians: "It almost seems unfair that these sounds were produced by only two people [;;Strong Sun Moon];; communicate their harmonies with such grace that the music approaches therapeutic levels of tranquility." - Sean Dennison, The Even Ground)
"...[Meghan Yates makes] a music taken straight from your very marrow..." - Sam Pfeifle
"Meghan Yates simply sings from an otherworldly place that I can only describe as delicate trembling thunder. In fact, her voice is so arresting that the lyrics often seem like they're being sung in some long lost tongue. " - William Ethridge (Eternal Otter Records)
