Tuscany Unplugged!
Come experience the newest cabaret room in town. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11 at 7PM. Tuscany Italian Restaurant in La Costa!
On Sunday, October 11th, you'll be treated to 5 well-known and distinguished Cabaret singers, three from Los Angeles and two from our very own San Diego in "TUSCANY UNPLUGGED!".
Joe Savant and Tokeli Baker, both from San Diego and both with extensive theater, screen and TV credits, join us. You may remember Joe from his performances at Martinis Above Fourth with Leigh Scarritt and crew in The Diva Diaries! Joe spent a remarkable time on Broadway in productions of Beauty And The Beast, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Peter Pan. He's worked with luminaries like Angela Lansbury, Elton John, Debbie Reynolds and a host of others. His stage presence is commanding and penetrating! You have to see for yourself!
Tokeli Baker, another wonderfully talented and popular local personality! You might recall her from her many performances at Dizzy's, Anthology and so many other popular clubs in town. In addition to her contributions as a Cabaret performer, actress, musician, artist and writer, Tokeli is known for her extensive work in stage and film. She wrote and co-directed the award-winning documentary film, "Project Life," in 2007. As a playwright, Tokeli wrote and directed world premiere musicals: Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, The Book of Goddesses, Welcome to Camp Yellow Sub, and Jazz in the Night. From Los Angeles, Shelly Goldstein, Tom Kiesche and Shelly Markham take the stage. You might recognize Shelly Markham for his work as Musical Director at Martinis Above Fourth or for his work with the famous Andrea Marcovecci as Musical Director. Shelly has a long history as a cabaret performer as well. His most recent show, Things I've Learned Along The Way which debuted at New York's famous Don't Tell Mama's. Shelly's many accomplishments from Broadway to Cabaret stage are remarkable by any measure, and you can bet he is sure to thrill.
Tom Kiesche (Breaking Bad and The mentalist), another wildly exciting LA-based cabaret performer with a massive resume in film, theater, and "dozens" of TV shows (dozens of commercials too) and Cabaret gives up an incredibly fun and edgy set that will bring the house down! You really don't want to miss Tom.
And the crazy-good Shelly Goldstein joins us from LA to make her first Cabaret appearance in San Diego! Shelly, a wildly popular cabaret performer in London and Los Angeles, is also known as one of the busiest writers of award shows in Hollywood, New York and the UK. She's written special material for the likes of Steven Spielberg, Liza Minnelli, Whoopie Goldberg, Steve Martin, Yoko Ono and a throng of others. Her lyrical spin on familiar songs next Sunday will absolutely dazzle!
