AWAKE: The Life of Yogananda
Hindu mystic Paramahansa Yogananda brought yoga and meditation to the West in 1920 and authored the spiritual classic "Autobiography of a Yogi." By personalizing his own quest for enlightenment and sharing his struggles along the path, Yogananda made ancient teachings accessible to a modern audience. This documentary film examines the world of yoga, modern and ancient, East and West and explores why millions today have turned their attention inwards, bucking the temptations of the material world in pursuit of Self-Realization.
The screening will be at Yoga Flow's Ocean Avenue studio. Shoes will need to be removed before entering. When ordering tickets please indicate your seating preference, floor or chair.
Following the film, there will be an open house next door at the San Francisco Meditation Group of Self-Realization Fellowship. Copies of "Autobiography of a Yogi" will be for sale. Light refreshments will be served.
