GigTown Presents: Lovin' Local Showcase
Last time around we had too much fun, so get ready for another full day of music at the coolest new venue in San Diego, Quartyard. Come hang out, soak up some rays, sip on craft beer and cocktails, and hear some of the finest local musicians our city has to offer. Kid friendly, dog friendly, and just $5 to get in - half of which goes straight to the artists to show our support. NOTE - you can purchase tickets with cash or card at the venue as well! Plus, anyone with GigTown on their phones get a free beer koozie :)
We've got an awesome lineup of local musicians that if you haven't heard yet, you need to.
Pat Hilton, one of GigTown's jingle contest finalists, will kick things off with his "power acoustic" style. You can grab a coffee at the Meshuggah Shack (part of the Quartyard) if you'd like, but you won't need to with Pat rocking.
Hummingbird Hotel is David Ornelas from the successful reggae, soul, pop band "Stranger", along with Megan Combs, a talented local singer/songwriter. Having formed just over a year ago, the dup has already toured all around the western US, most notably at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, UT.
Kevin Begin is a San Diego songwriter originally from Michigan. He's toured nationally and, after this show, he's packing up his sound equipment into his Prius and hitting the road indefinitely! He'll be back, but this will be your last chance to hear him for quite some time.
Dawn Mitschele is an artist with the type of soulful voice where you'll be sipping on your beer with a big smile on your face, and then ask yourself "what am I smiling about?" Don't doubt us on this. You'll just have to see for yourself.
Ryan Hiller will keep the good vibes going with his jazzy, bluesy, rock-y, and all-around awesome sound. Talented vocalist and one of the best guitarists in San Diego, you won't want to miss what Ryan is going to lay down.
Nick Crook, GigTown's jingle contest winner, will blow some minds. 20 years old but experienced and soulful beyond his years, this singer/songwriter took second at the Del Mar Fair's songwriting contest and there's little doubt he's on the track for big things. Catch him while he's on his way up!
After the singer/songwriters share their sound, we're going to open it up and really get the party started. Cerissa & 332 are going to bring the good ol' funky tunes that will get you on your feet and dancing.
And last but certainly not least, Luneaux is going to rock the house with their unique, all-original tunes and one-of-a-kind creativity. You never know what Devereaux (the lead singer) will do, as he is known for busting out new songs on the fly. Who knows what will happen. All we know is that it's going to be a great way to close out an amazing day of live music.
All in all, good music and good vibes are guaranteed all day long, provided by some of the best local musicians in town. The music gets going at 12pm and ends at 7pm, so come on by for a brew, support our local artists, and enjoy the San Diego summer that makes everyone else jealous.
