A Fund Raising Concert for Hindole Majumdar School of Music and Dance: An Evening of Indian Classical Music with violin maestro Visushi Sangeeta Shankar with Pandit Hindole Majumdar on tabla
Dr. Sangeeta Shankar is a world-renowned violinist, Grammy award nominee. Dr Shankar is the daughter of Padmabhushan Dr.N.Rajam. She first started performing on television when she was 8 years old, and her career has been forging ahead ever since. She gave a full-fledged debut solo performance when she was as young as 16. She plays the 'Gayaki Ang', a style often referred to as the 'Singing Violin', bringing out all the emotions of a human voice in the violin. Her magical fingers enchant the tuneful strings of the violin to create a divine and sublime atmosphere. She has performed extensively across the globe in various countries like USA, Canada, France, Germany, Belgium, Russia, Hungary, Netherlands, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Switzerland, etc. Dr. Sangeeta Shankar excelled in her academics, with gold medals in Bachelors & Masters, and also a doctorate in music from The Banaras Hindu University.
Her immensely soulful and ecstatic music on the violin appeals to audiences far and wide. She has performed all over the world and has received numerous awards and applauses for her violin concerts. Dr Sangeeta has been involved in many projects in the fields of education, culture, art, music, and creative pursuits.

Maestro Hindole Majumdar, occupies a commendable position as a tabla player all over the world. He was a child prodigy who started learning tabla at the age of five years and gave his first performance overwhelming the audience at the age of 10. He received his first training from Sri Shibshankar Karmakar, a disciple of Ustad Karamatullah Khan of the Farukhabad Gharana. At present, Hindole is receiving training from the great tabla maestro Pandit Sankha Chatterjee of the Punjab and Farukhabad Gharana. He also had the opportunity to learn South Indian Rhythm style from the mridangam exponent Bidwan S. Shekhar. He tours the globe with his work and experiments critically acclaimed. He has accompanied great musicians of Indian Classical Music like Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Shujat Khan, Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt, Pandit Rupak Kulkarni, Pandit Rakesh Chaurasia, Bidwan Shashank Subramanium, Bidwan Lalgudi Krishnan to name a few. Recently he has collaborated with world musicians like doyra player Abos Kosimov, four-time grammy award winning percussionist Glenn Velez, and world guitarist Fareed Haque. He is the founder of Hindole Majumdar School of Music and Dance in Milwaukee, WI., where he teaches tabla and Indian Rhythm on a regular basis.
