Creative Musicianship One Day Workshop
MAKE SOME NOISE! Explore the creative possibilities of music through sound-making activities and group composing led by composers Jessie Downs and Doug Farrand. Through learning by doing, students will gain a physical understanding of how to use sound colours, rhythm, pitch, and other structures to turn their ideas, feelings, images, and stories into music.
Students will also build instruments to take home!
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.
Ages 8 and up. Two dates available, June 20th and July 18th.
In 2014, Jessie and Doug brought their class to our students in Orange, and it was so much fun, that we decided to share it with the world.
Make sure to watch the video from their successful 2014 fundraiser to learn a little about the class and the teachers.
This one day workshop is a great way for your child to try something new. Hosted at ORNG Ink, a youth arts collective in the ValleyArts District of West Orange/Orange NJ, this sonic adventure takes place in a welcoming and inspiring environment. Lunch is provided.
