Permeable Pavements Technical Webinar
On Wednesday, June 17th from Noon-3:10 pm, The Washington Stormwater Center (WSC) will host a more in-depth technical webinar for those already familiar with permeable pavements. We will feature research regarding water quality treatment data and pollutant removal from Washington State and Missouri. Speakers will also discuss recent thinking regarding specifications, design and operations & maintenance for pervious concrete, porous asphalt and pervious interlocking concrete pavers (PICP). The presentations will also include on-the-ground experience through case studies and approaches for permeable pavements in arid climates.  

Curtis Hinman, Herrera, will share the results of his research on water quality from the last few years.

John Kevern, University of Missouri at Kansas City, will share his research on groundwater pollutant removal using actively enhanced pervious concrete.

Andy Marks, Puget Sound Concrete Specification Council, will address pervious concrete specifications and design, including recent ACI 522 changes.

Mark Palmer, City of Puyallup, will address porous asphalt applications and highlight work being undertaken in Puyallup.

Jim Brisbine, Associated Earth Sciences, will address geotechnical considerations for permeable pavements.

Marcia Davis, City of Spokane, will address how eastern Washington and Spokane are approaching permeable pavements in a more arid environment.

Holly Piza, Urban Flood Control District,and Chris Olson, Colorado Stormwater Center, will address maintenance and operations considerations and touch on their experience in more arid Denver.
