The Festival is excited to welcome back Woody Pines for some raucous down home swing music!
No stranger to fans of the new folk music coming from all corners of the USA. Alongside artists like Old Crow Medicine Show and Pokey LaFarge, Woody Pines continues to forage thru the secret world of old 78ʹs and to write new chapters in the Anthology of American Music. Integrating sounds from Leadbelly to Bob Dylan, from Woody Guthrie to Preservation Hall, Woody Pines belts out songs of fast cars, pretty women and hard luck with a distinctive vintage twang.
Thomas Taylor and HighRize Band play a wide variety of music, ranging from Conway Twitty to Blake Shelton, as well as Michael Jackson. Thomas Taylor's unique voice can bring back memories of artists such as Conway Twitty, Travis Tritt and Elvis Presley.
Thomas and members of the band have worked with nationally known artists and stars. All are veterans in the music industry, and came together in 2011 to form the group.
Members are Thomas Taylor from Honaker, VA on lead vocal; Randall Sword from Glade Spring, VA on keyboards and background vocals; Aaron Higgins from Bristol, VA on Bass Guitar; Darren Brooks from Chilhowie, VA on lead guitar and Donnie Higgins from Bristol, VA on drums and background vocals.
Tickets are $7.50 in advance, $10 at the door. Kids under 12 are free. Beer garden and food vendors will be open for this concert. No outside food and beverages are allowed.
