The Musical 1950's with a nod to Broadway

"The Musical 1950's with a nod to Broadway" is a family-friendly revue which continues Windsor Theatre Group's series of the music of the decades. There will be ten performances over two weekends at the historic Ozark Theatre, 103 East Lockwood, just east of Elm in Webster Groves.

Most of the selections are from shows which appeared on Broadway in the 1950's; a few songs are from the pop genre during the same decade. Some of these tunes have been rarely performed since those Broadway productions closed. This enjoyable potpourri will be performed by singers and dancers, with piano accompaniment.

Audiences can enjoy this great relaxing entertainment on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays: May 7 through 10, and May 14 through 17. Evening performances are at 7:30 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; matinee performances are at 2 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The wonderful Ozark Theatre provides an intimate environment. It offers free parking and handicap accessibility.

General admission tickets for the performances on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are $18 each; seniors are $16 each; and children 14 and under are $7 each. There is also a group rate for 6 or more of $12 per person, available by calling Windsor Theatre Group at 314-832-2114.

A Thursday night special is being offered, which admits all adults for $10 each to either Thursday evening performance; children 14 and under are still $7 each.

Former Muny stars Cheri Schear and Jeff Stewart head the cast. Other familiar names seen on local stages include Bryan Foote, Lindsey Jones, Elizabeth Todd, Bill Webster, and Mike Wells. Musical Director is Katie Kopff. Two other fine St. Louis pianists, Mary Ann Schulte and Johanna Stull, will share the accompaniment duties. Howie Hirshfield will be the emcee/narrator.

Windsor Theatre Group is in its 30th year; it began presenting shows in the St. Louis area in 1986.
