Rock for a Reason
The "Rock for a Reason" concert brings music students and professionals together to create more than 15 bands-for-a-day. Students choose the music, and then bands are formed for each song, consisting of a drummer, bassist/guitarist, pianist and vocalist! This annual event brings families together and allows music to be the common thread to bridge generations, cultures and backgrounds. Songs will range from artists such as Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Journey, Maroon 5, and even originals from our students and professional band! Come out and enjoy the awesome music and visual stage production, as well as help a worthy-cause create a better future for our young people!
All proceeds from this event will go to benefit the Audrie Pott Foundation, A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing anti-cyberbullying presentations to schools, art and music scholarships, grants for school therapists.
"This event is important because it's the youth of our area helping local youth," said Majhon Phillips, Music As Language founder and coordinator of Rock for a Reason. "Every act of kindness and generosity grows to create more - why not use great music and fun as a starting point?"
