Claudia Nygaard - live from Nashville!
When Nashville singer-songwriter Claudia Nygaard's last CD "Let The Storm Roll In" was reviewed by Jeffrey Sisk, (In Tune, The Daily News - PA), he said "Claudia Nygaard is one of Americana music's hidden gems".
Well she's not so hidden now. Nygaard's latest release not only climbed to the #8 spot on the Folk DJ chart, it stayed on that chart for four months. It also cross-platformed to #26 on the Cashbox Roots Music Americana Chart, and nabbed the coveted #1 spot on the Roots Music Country Chart. EVERY song on the CD received airplay, and the popular cut "Big Country" was added to the in-flight playlist of Lufthansa Airlines.
Claudia is making new fans among listeners from California to Maine, and her new fans are radio DJs as well as listeners.
And this validation is long overdue. Nygaard's voice alone could have provided her with a successful music career, but the slash between singer/songwriter is a very thin line when describing Claudia Nygaard. After her years in the bars and riding the corn dog trail, she made the move to Nashville, and landed a job as a staff songwriter for Greenwood Music on Music Row. The job allowed her to focus on the craft of songwriting, and she learned it well. So well, her writing has won her numerous awards including the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival Songwriting Competition "New Folk". Reviewers are quick to praise her voice, but it is the songwriting that has everyone raving about the record.

Martin Grosswendt and Susanne Salem-Schatz
Martin has been exploring the roots and branches of American acoustic music for more than 40 years. He is a master of pre-war blues and other southern traditional genres on guitar and other instruments. Beginning his career as the "house musician" at Philo Records in the 1970s, Martin has shared the stage with legendary artists including Jesse Winchester, Dave Van Ronk, Tom Rush, Sonny Terry and Brownie Magee, Sam and Dave, Taj Mahal, Paul Geremia, Mike Dowling, NRBQ, and Henny Youngman.
Susanne is a lifelong singer with experience across a range of American roots genres. These two powerhouse singers combine forces to present a delightful gumbo rooted in the blues and old-time traditions with a soul that comes from deep within and a wry humor that engages audiences everywhere.
