Spring Loaded
Kick off Beach Season at Spring Loaded, An Explosion of Stories, Music and Art. Held in the main gallery at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City, this very unique evening will feature award winning musician James Neary (James won the Acorn Theater's singer/songwriter competition last year.) In addition, Live Lit Storytellers will leave you laughing--and maybe evoke a tear or two. Mary Dean Cason, author of What Solomon Saw and Other Stories, Jill Howe, creator of Chicago's StorySessions, Gregg Fraley, Author of the business fable, Jack's Notebook, David Fink, Owner, Acorn Theater and curator of Chicago's OutSpoken, Sandy Horwitz, writer and storyteller and Sean Keen, storyteller and memoirist. Proceeds will fund the Lubeznik Center's Academic Achievement through Art, serving 11 after school sites in partnership with Safe Harbor and Boys and Girls Club.
Performed on a stage surrounded by the new installation of "Looking Glass: An exploration of Self Portraiture" the evening will include a cash bar, passed hors d'oeuvres AND Prop Room Selfies--an event within the event where participants can chose from an array of theater props to create a selfie that will be judged in realtime. Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the performance.
Spring Loaded promises to be a lot of fun, while supporting visual and performing arts for children. Tickets are $15.00
