OKC OUTLAWS ROLLER DERBY vs. OKC LIGHTNING BROADS
The OKC Outlaws are hosting OKCRD Lightning Broads on April 4th at the OK Fairgrounds in the Centennial Building.
Why the change in venue from the Oklahoma Expo Hall?
Not only for this HUGE bout, but it is also an opportunity for The Outlaws to extend our love and support to two charities that we hold very near and dear to our hearts. We expect the turnout for the charities to be overwhelming. We have put forth a great deal of effort to really make this bout INCREDIBLY family friendly.
That is right, not ONE but TWO charities this bout!
Canadian Valley Autism Camp Noggin and Special Care, INC.
There will be face painting, coloring booths, bean bag toss, and lots more for the kiddos to do! Not to mention one KILLER BOUT!
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door **Children 12 and under are free with paid adult**
AFTERPARTY The Garage in Midtown for dinner, bring the kids and let's have dinner together!
After dinner we will be heading out to The Copa for dancing and drinks!
We will have raffles, auction items, donation jars, and lots of activities for the entire family! All funds raised through raffles, auction, and donations will be split between Camp Noggin and Special Care.
**It can get a little loud so you may want to invest in some ear muffs/headphones/earplugs/noise softeners of some sort for your child.
We want everyone to have fun and we completely understand that social functions can be over stimulating for many children. Please bring whatever you need to make your family comfortable. There will be no flashing lights, but the DJ and cheering can get a little loud.
We will have a designated area for the children and their parents so that that section, they have the choice to sit in, will be a little less stimulating from the noise of the crowd.
The first charity: Canadian Valley Autism Camp Noggin
What is Camp Noggin?
Camp Noggin is sponsored by AutismCanadianValley.org and offers children in Canadian County the opportunity to attend camp in a safe and secure environment. The benefits of camp for children with special needs are the same as they would be for any child. These include increased confidence and independence, activity and exercise, the opportunity to interact with other children, develop friendships, and build relationships, plus positive role modeling by peers, college students, and adults.

The second charity: Special Care, Inc.
Special Care provides specialized direct care, education, and therapy services to children with and without special needs. Special Care understands that children and families facing enormous, overwhelming challenges deserve the same opportunities as typically developing children and their families. Special Care is the only inclusive program of its kind in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. Child care professionals from across the country tour our facility and spend time with our staff, teachers, and children learning firsthand that children with and without disabilities develop to their full potential and have higher self-esteem when they learn alongside one another rather than in separate educational and social environments.
