"Outpour of Love" Benefit Concert for Rev. Wanda Sawyer
Rev. Wanda L. Sawyer is an anointed woman full of God's love, gifts and passion to lead lost souls from darkness into His marvelous light. She has been a long-time leader and loving Pastor of several Southwestern PA-area congregations, including her most recent tenure at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Rankin, PA for the past 14 years. Prior to that, she was Assistant Pastor at the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in East Liberty and served for several years as the pastor of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Charleroi, PA. On September 14, 2014 while singing and praising God in the pulpit, Pastor Sawyer suffered a ruptured cerebral aneurysm, which caused extensive damage to her brain that resulted in a disability with a poor prognosis. Not only did she survive a devastating brain injury, but thanks to God, her brain continues to heal miraculously, even at the doctors' amazement! Every day God continues to strengthen her to the point of being able to regain usage of both sides of her body, read and quote Scripture, and even take small steps. An initial bleak prognosis has changed to complete optimism that with continued rehabilitation she will have a full recovery. With surmounting medical bills, reduction in income and anticipation of more months of extensive rehabilitation and long-term care, there is a need to request assistance to help Rev. Sawyer continue her journey to a full recovery.
On Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 5PM, Rev. Sawyer's niece Rev. Nikki Porter, along with her Godson, Rev. Trini L. Massie, will host an "Outpour of Love" benefit concert at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 271 Paulson Avenue in Pittsburgh, PA. The concert will feature these two recording artists and fellow artists, James Ziegler, Curtis Lewis, Jr., Pastor Keith Moncrief, Travis Malloy, Dr. Sheila Johnson-Hunt and others.
