Music soothes us, shakes us, astounds us and breaks our hearts. In this evening length work, Sarah Bush Dance Project rocks through the life of a woman rocked by women. From baby steps to coming out, and first crush to lost love, music by women from the past four decades binds the story of many to one and one to many - transforming everyday memories to the history we all share. With its eclectic score of unforgettable voices, this kinetic, hybrid work pays tribute to the women who rock us.
Join us for this bold, vivacious dance theater performance choreographed by Sarah Bush, acclaimed by the San Francisco Chronicle as "a force to be reckoned with." Rocked By Women uses dance, music, and video to celebrate the positive impact of musicians, feminists and activists from the Women's Music Movement. With original composition and sound design by Julie Wolf, the score features music by women from the 70's to the 00's, such as Cris Williamson, Tracy Chapman, Joan Jett, Queen Latifah, Bikini Kill, Ani DiFranco and Missy Elliott.

The Patron ticket option (Saturday only) includes priority seating selection and admission to a pre-show reception with Sarah Bush. Tickets for the Sunday performance include a post-show panel discussion with celebrated local artists & leaders.
