Event

NoiZeMakerz ft. Hyperactive, Danny The Wildchild, Phidelity, Cloudy With A Chance Of Techno, Andrew Boie and B2B sets from your favorite locals
As the local PDX dance community starts to come out of hibernation and into the beginnings of another festival season, we here thought to get everybody together under one roof for an afternoon through evening event at Branx. All of us working in this industry and inn this community make noise, we are the "NoiZeMakerz" of today!

ET is turning forty and has been planning this birthday event for almost a year now. His idea to build a stronger community by bringing all of the diverse groups in Portland together under one roof for one day would be a good way to bring people young and old, novice and experienced together to share their knowledge, history and love for what we all do together. In order to perpetuate our scene for future generations to come, some of us need to take a step back and look at how we can bond together to build a stronger scene. Sometimes negative attitudes from older and younger people saying things like "This is my scene not yours!" is exactly the opposite of what the scene has always been about. It's everybody's scene, and we all have a choice to make it as great as possible by supporting each other without negative attitudes.

So can we all just get together for one day under one roof and have some fun!

This event will be hosted at Branx starting at 3 pm and will be running til close at 2:30 am so we've broken up the tickets into a few tiers with limited pre-sales for everybody.

Pre sale tickets available here

DJ Hyperactive

Chicago born and bred DJ, Producer, Teacher, and brother of the humble.

Joseph Manumaleuna aka DJ Hyperactive leaped up out of Chicago right at the peak of his career on a straight shot to SoCal to take on the daunting challenge of opening a record store, managing 4 Track Records, and jumping on planes. Come 1998 it nearly tapped him out and set him into seclusion for nearly a ten year hiatus. Here we are again, woken from all of the murmuring amidst a culture and scene who's nearly seen the complete obliteration of vinyl production and distribution stateside with having to lean heavily on the feeds from abroad. They say you're only as good as your last output. Let's see if he can pick up where he left off nearly a decade ago..

Cloudy With A Chance Of Techno

Opening a new chapter of musical journey, Jade Reed and Mustafa Avdic merged their musical passions to form a comical collaboration known as 'Cloudy With A Chance Of Techno'. Make no mistake: The music behind the whimsical name is a testament to their personalities on the dance floor, and to their expertise in decimating dance floors with giant bass-laden meatballs of shredding techno. Their forays into the music studio provide them with a means to forge dance floor artillery that is constructed with sinister moods and strapped together by dark, driving percussion. This is further laced with haunting vocals and ominous atmospherics in order to convey a madness that compels one to let it all go and dance.

Reverse Cowboy

Considered one of the most versatile DJ duo's of the northwest, Heartburn and Ceez teamed up way back in 2014 after a lengthy conversation about the similarities between genres of music and sex moves.

Not to say that what they consider "missionary" their basic means of delivery, the One Wub Sound Systems alum delved into other "positions" of music that opened many doors to night clubs across the NW.

The nucleus that formed after nights of passionate DJing lead to the Reverse Cowboy pairing. Every style of music crossing their path results in the best position possible for supreme explosion on the dance floor.

Joepamine aka Joe Bullit

Joepamine ( 'jōpə,mēn ):

A DJ-neurotransmitter discovered in Portland, OR which is responsible for things such as cognition, reward, extroversion, motor control, and mood in the brain. Inadequate levels of Joepamine have been associated with severe conditions such as L.A.M.E. and B.O.R.I.N.G. Joepamine is most commonly found near dance floors and camp outs in the Pacific Northwest. While under the effects of Joepamine, one can likely expect his or her body to move in what can only be described as either a gyration-like motion, or a two-step. If you feel you are lacking adequate Joepamine concentrations in your brain, the recommended course of action is to seek out the BASS, and notify your friends that you are in need of some immediate dance floor attention. Please enjoy Joepamine (ir)responsibly.

DJ Clay Watkins b2b Jacob Poe

Jacob Poe   Radda Records

Radda Records is an underground house label in Portland, Oregon. We're dedicated to creating, and distributing quality House music from around the world.
Long Description
Radda Records was born in Portland Oregon. With founders and fun, loving couple Jacob and Jesse Poe as the foundation for this idea, they started out with a love of dance. Living in Portland and being able to enjoy quality music from near and far was always super amazing. Surrounded by extremely talented people, they came to the conclusion it was high time to give something back to the music community that had given them so much. Already immersed in the Portland underground House Music scene with 15 years of DJing and years of producing House Music, this couple decided to ventured off and make a label of their own. With Radda Records their goal is to bring the love and the funk back to the dance floor. House music is feeling. It really does pick you up when you are feeling down. It brings all types of people together and opens their minds. This is what we want to contribute to. The sounds one will hear range from deep, soulful, funky, jacking, jazzy, tech house, with a whole lot of bass to wash it down. Most of all, Radda Records tracks will be filled with love for the DJ and the dance floor, because without you there would be no us.

Clay Watkins   A Family Affair Continues

Clay loves the Chicago and San Francisco styles of House, which were the basis of his musical influence since starting to DJ 11 years ago. Growing up outside of Chicago, he was sucked in by the mixing of Bad Boy Bill on the radio, but he also found his underground influences in Paul Johnson and Derrick Carter. They inspired him to pursue the music as just more than a fan and promoter.

After his early DJing years in El Paso, he moved to Portland when he was discharged from the Army. His interest and advocacy for non-traditional music began, and he achieved his Music Technology degree from Clackamas Community College (CCC) in 2008. He quickly got into freelance instruction, workshops, and guest instruction at CCC shortly after his graduation. His focus is on the Ableton Live DAW, and his own production work can be found on Serial Sickness, House Call Records, Caboose Recordings, and Sniff Your Ears, with forthcoming tracks to be released on Radda Records.
