Great Southwest Radio Valentine's Day Show
Treat your spouse or significant other to a delicious dinner and old-time radio drama for Valentine's Day. Or just come for the show at 2:00 pm or 7:00 pm. Two hilarious radio comedies from the Golden Age of radio will be performed live on-stage by the voice actors of the Great Southwest Radio Theatre Project (GSR) at the Coolidge Performing Arts Center, 684 W. Northern Ave., Coolidge, AZ. An episode of George Burns and Gracie Allen entitled "Income Tax Problems," originally broadcast on Mar. 8, 1950 will be followed by a Fibber McGee and Molly episode entitled "Valentine Candy" originally broadcast on Feb. 10, 1942. Original commercial jingles will also be performed on stage by the GSR players as well as hand-operated sound effects by a Foley artist. The performance also features Jazz songs from the 1940s sung live on stage. If you buy the dinner ticket, you will be further entertained by relaxing vocal selections sung by a GSR vocalist while you dine. Dinner begins promptly at 6:00 pm Feb. 14th in the lobby of the beautiful 930-seat Coolidge Performing Arts Center, followed by the radio theatre performance at 7:00 pm. A matinee of just the show (no dinner) will take place on the same day at 2:00 pm. Tickets for the dinner, show and dessert are $25 each in advance by Feb. 7th at BrownPaperTickets.com. Tickets for the drama only are $12 each at the door or $9 plus fees at BrownPaperTickets.com. For further information call: Ralph at 712-204-4527
