A three-month campaign to add members and build support for Commercial Club of Springfield, Springfield's oldest civic organization.
SUPPORT HISTORIC C-STREET; BECOME A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER of Springfield's oldest civic organization, Commercial Club of Springfield
Make it your New Year's resolution to be a part of Springfield's Creative Edge! Commercial Club has nurtured our historic district since the early 1900's. We invite you to join us in the journey of revitalizing of our district. Start by visiting historicCstreet.com or Historic C Street on Facebook and sign up for the C-Street Communique, our bi-monthly E-blast; keep up with all the fun that is Historic C Street!
Commercial Club manages the C-Street City Market & C-Street's Annual Loftwalk. We also sponsor and support most of the other events that occur on the street. We're online at wwwhistoricCstreet.com and on Facebook. We also invite guests to visit our district in "Welcome to Springfield," found in most local hotels.
Commercial Club, by City Council Ordinance, gives feedback on liquor licenses and coordinates with Public Works on projects related to public infrastructure. We support the policies and guidelines of our Strategic Plan, a blueprint for development which we had input in and which was adopted by City Council.
Commercial Club support & lobbying also resulted in the formation of a Tax Increment Financing District where funds have been accruing for 5 years now, funds that can only be used for infrastructure projects like our Frisco Lane project or streetscaping or purchase of property for parking or district-wide improvements.
Commercial Club was instrumental in the formation of our Community Improvement District (CID) which uses a tiny portion of the sales tax generated here in the district for promotions, landscaping maintenance, and friendly, safe & clean initiatives. Our board works with the CID board to make C-Street the best it can be.
Commercial Club is working towards increasing C-Street's Public Art collection and plugging residents, merchants and friends of C-Street into more Social activities. We just hosted a little Christmas soiree, a pizza and beer party at White River in place of our December meeting. We hope to have quarterly mixers like this for all our friends and family. Make sure you receive our bi-monthly E-blast if you want to know the who, what, when, where of C-Street fun. Go to Historic C-Street Facebook Page and sign up for it if you haven't already.
Commercial Club welcomes community membership & support. Your input will be valued; It really does take a village to build a district. We're looking for lots of ideas for of fun and exciting projects. If you care about the future of our sweet little Commercial Street Historic District, join by supporting us today!
