World class banjo player, Tim Weed, live in concert!

Tim Weed was a 16-year-old Southern California surfer when he broke out as a banjo-playing prodigy and catapulted into his lifelong courtship with the banjo. His music has developed into an eclectic blend of classical, jazz, world music, and Americana with stunning vocals & virtuosic instrumentals drawing influences from India, Tibet, Africa and Latin America.

According to Peter Rowan, "Tim's multifaceted playing brings unusual influences together, from old-time flamenco with Eastern spices. It's a tasty blend!"
Weed's music appears regularly on National Public Radio where he has been a featured artist on Bob Boilen's All Songs Considered, and he has played for the Dalai Lama. A veteran multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, he has produced over 100 albums, and inspired legendary producer Phil Ramone to praise him as "an incredible singer."

Pete Seeger was a big fan, Maria Muldaur calls his music "very very soulful & inspiring," and he's on Banjo Newsletter Magazine's list of the "world's greatest banjo players."

In a recent feature by renowned entertainment writer Paul Liberatore, Weed was hailed as "One of the finest string musicians and singer-songwriters. Weed is a lot more than a banjo virtuoso a former L.A. session musician, he's a multi-instrumentalist who also possesses a trained tenor voice with a jaw-dropping range."

Weed's band is comprised of virtuoso musicians playing bass, percussion, violin, guitars, banjo, mandolin, kalimba, and didjeridoo.
Weed lived for several years in Tucson, was known as Tim Wiedenkeller, and was a mainstay on the local music scene. Gene Armstrong of The Tucson Weekly says: "Perhaps one of Tucson's best-kept musical secrets . . . [Wiedenkeller] finds avid support among the Old Pueblo's adventurous music buffs."
