A Merry Fa La La

Vivace Youth Chorus of San José will present A Merry Fa La La, featuring our Teen Ensembles on Saturday, December 13th, 2014 at 5p at First Immanuel Lutheran Church, 374 South Third Street, in downtown San Jose, 95112.

The Women and Men's Ensembles will be performing music from all over the world including familiar carols as well as carols from Sweden, Venezuala, Germany and England. The concert will also include pieces by Debussy and Rossini, and features guest instrumentalist, Christine Lovejoy, on percussion.

Directed by Artistic and Founding Director, Peggy Spool and Men's Ensemble Director, Albert Mabeza, the concert will be followed by a reception for all guests and singers. Tickets are $15 for Adults, and $8 for youth ages 4-18.

About Vivace Youth Chorus of San José
Vivace Youth Chorus of San Jose's mission is "to provide young singers with the means and opportunities to experience and share the power and poetry of song". Now in our second decade, Vivace continues to provide an accessible, engaging and affordable music program to attract and nurture a diverse group of children representing the Silicon Valley community. We introduce children and teens to the joy of learning music and singing together and provide opportunities for them to share their beautiful sound through concerts for the broader community. We provide both an early introduction to choral music with our Rising Notes preschool music classes and the opportunity to progress through different choir levels up through high school with our young women's and young men's Teen Ensembles and new A Cappella Choir that debuted last season.
In addition, Vivace connects singers and their families through collaborations with the larger music and arts community including San Jose Symphonic Choir, Opera San Jose, San Jose State University's Department of Music and Dance, and Silicon Valley Arts Coalition. Our choruses have also premiered works by local composers, which includes poetry and music by children and youth in Silicon Valley. Through this work, Vivace maintains and strengthens its mission to provide choral music education and promote community engagement in the arts to the youth of Silicon Valley. We are highly committed to artistic excellence and have provided a high-caliber program in keeping with our mission.
