Winter Songs - Moody Little Sister and Kathryn Claire
Join Kathryn Claire and Moody Little Sister (Naomi Hooley and Rob Stroup) for an intimate evening of songs, both original and traditional as we head into the longest night of the year and celebrate the holiday season.
We are thrilled to be sharing music, celebration and ceremony with a small group of people. We hope you can join us!
Kathryn Claire is part of a new generation of traditionally-inspired musicians. Her guitar and fiddle-playing exhibit a technical grace which is matched only by her truly captivating voice and her rare ability to move seamlessly across genres. Her deep love and respect for traditional music has long been a driving influence and those roots can be heard in her own original music. Early classical training on the violin naturally gave way to her own creative inclinations. While still a teenager, Kathryn taught herself guitar in order to explore her own voice as a songwriter. She has since spent years cultivating her unique style and approach to music as a guitar player, violinist, singer, and songwriter. Performing is a truly joyful experience for Kathryn Claire, and her love of music is evident every time she takes the stage. Her charismatic presence and infectious smile have made her a favorite at venues and festivals around the world. She has toured and performed extensively in the US, Japan, India, Holland, Belgium and France. Strong fundamentals from her classical background combined with an innate ability to improvise and a keen sense of harmony has made her a sought after collaborator and allowed her to work in a wide range of genres.

When Naomi Hooley moved 3000 miles, from a small town in Alaska, the chances meeting Rob Stroup from a small town in Oregon were pretty slim, but it happened... and from the moment they met there was musical chemistry. Naomi is a prolific song writer with a unique style and vocal signature. The local press has called her voice "cool and powerful" and her songwriting "masterful". Rob's musical background brings a whole other set of sounds and influences. A founding member of Portland's beloved roots rock combo The Baseboard Heaters Rob draws on 60's rock and classic country influences. Also informed by the "Oklahoma sound" of JJ Cale and the bluesy sides of Dylan. You'll experience a show delivered with powerful piano and acoustic guitar, combined with foot percussion and amazing harmonies, with a side of story telling. Naomi and Rob have taken this act all up and down the West Coast and continue to be very well received by a very diverse group of audiences.
