Merrimans' Playhouse Jazz Performance Series presents Jeremy Siskind Michigan Trio (Bookends)
Trio with Jeremy Siskind on piano, George DeLancey on bass, and Keith Hall on drums. Jeremy Siskind is the winner of the 2012 Nottingham International Jazz Piano Competition and the second place winner of the 2011 Montreux Solo Piano Competition. As a pianist, he's performed both jazz and classical music at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, in Japan, Switzerland, Thailand, England, India, France, and China.
A busy performer in the New York City jazz circuit, George has performed with the likes of Winard Harper, Johnny O'Neal, Christian Howes, Richard Galliano, and the Jazz at Lincoln Center All Stars. He has performed and taught at Christian Howes' Creative Strings Workshop, as well as elementary schools, secondary schools, and universities across the United States.
Drummer Keith Hall has established himself as a passionate educator and joyful performer. Keith has performed with Billy Drewes, Betty Carter, Wycliffe Gordon, Sir Roland Hanna, Fred Hersch, Joe Lovano, Wynton Marsalis, Michael Phillip Mossman, Janis Siegel, Luciana Souza, Terrell Stafford, Joe Wilder and Steve Wilson. Keith presents his educational programs to students of all ages and he is the director of the Keith Hall Summer Drum Intensive. He is the Jazz Drum Set Professor at Western Michigan University and the author of Jazz Drums Now! Vol. 1 and Vol. 2.
