The 14th annual Lawrence Scottish Fest will be held Saturday, Jan. 30th, 2010 at the Lawrence Arts Center.
FESTIVAL 6:00-7:30 consists of a sampling of Scottish treats plus bagpipers, information booths, traditional Scottish dancers and a Celtic jam session.
CONCERT starts at 7:30 with special guest "Kelly" plus regular performers Forest Green, Maria & Megan, Rev Douglas Phenix and members of Kansas Territorial Pipes & Drums. Intermission includes a sampling of haggis. This year's concert will combine traditional Scottish music with works by contemporary Scottish musicians such as Dougie MacLean.
Note: Discount advance adult tickets are now available for $14 at Brits and Mass Street Music in Lawrence (until Friday, Jan. 29th) or by mailing a check made out to Larry Carter to 2060 East 1400 Road, Lawrence, Kansas, 66044 (postmark by Sat, Jan. 23rd) Adult tickets at the door are $15, Students $12 (high school & under or college with i.d.).
