SF WORLD MUSIC presents THE WAR PROJECT: MUSIC UNPLUGGED
A New Vision for Social Justice
THE WAR PROJECT is a global initiative to create engagement between the world's greatest musicians, social justice leaders and communities most in need. First we will launch MUSIC UNPLUGGED highlighting our master and youth musicians. In spring of 2015 we will stage an interactive ENCAMPMENT as a new site-specific production experimenting with new live-streaming technology, audience smart phone interfaces, witness stories, youth orchestra and masters from around the globe. THE WAR PROJECT will culminate in fall of 2015 with THE WAR ZONE in an actual refugee camp overseas.

Join us for an evening of music featuring the masters and youth musicians of THE WAR PROJECT, including musicians from Azerbaijan, South India, China, Iran, Zimbabwe, Ireland and more. MUSIC UNPLUGGED explores the intersection of how music is used as propaganda, protest and prayer in the context of war.
