CONCERTO FOR ORCHESTRA

Meany Theater
Seattle, WA

Orchestra Seattle, with George Shangrow, conductor, moves to Meany Hall for this "Big Orchestra" concert. Torke's imaginative saxophone concerto will be played by award-winning saxophonist, Erik Ibsen-Nowak. Soprano Eleanor Stallcop-Horrox joins us for the hauntingly beautiful "Four Last Songs" by Richard Strauss -- songs the composer wrote in the 1940s which display his ultimate romanticism. The orchestra will be the star for Bartok's virtuosic Concerto for Orchestra.
