ROMANTASY CABARETS Daringly Scary Macabre Masquerade slithers onto the stage on Saturday, October 24th 2009 at Club Red. Club Red is located in Tempe at 2155 East University Drive. The doors open at 7:30 pm and the three-act show rises up from the mist at 8:30pm.
Since 2007, Romantasy Cabaret director Lucy Morals has combined an ever-changing line up of singers, dancers, circus folk and carnies with her vintage approach to modern variety. Romantasy Cabaret boasts a cast and crew of about thirty of Phoenixs most unusual, creative and beautiful performers. Every bimonthly show features something new, so repeat customers can be assured they will never see the same show twice. The first two acts of the show offer a wide range of entertaining scenes and spoofs. Act Three presents burlesque beauties who bare almost all.
For their final show of the 2009 season the cast will creak open the vault on darker themes and eerie vignettes, along with the usual comedy, choreography and craziness. The cast and crew will party to raise the dead as well as some eyebrows with freakish feats, barely-dressed beauties, and low-brow, naughty humor. In addition to several new acts, many featured artists and favorites make a comeback October 24th. Come out and tickle your fancy with the demonic, weapon-wielding Motley Sue and the always fascinating Black Light Glow Set! The Daringly Scary show, like all preceding Romantasy Cabaret shows, is not for the faint of heart. Bawdy jokes, adult language and partial nudity will be rampant in the evenings affair.
Audience members are encouraged to dress in masquerade attire fit for only the creepiest fete. Those who arrive in costume will receive free raffle tickets for a chance to win prize bags with gifts from local merchants and fabulous glamour trinkets for the ladies. Additional raffle tickets will be sold for one dollar each. Still more will be given away in a Sexy Scavenger Hunt game.
Attendees are also invited to a fun after party, where cast and crew mingle with audience members for a meet and greet. Live swing music will be performed by the valleys One Kitty Gone.
Ms. Morals urges advance purchase of tickets if patrons hope for a seat during this 3-hour plus show. Front row VIP and VIP Reserved seats sell out quickly.
