In the Mood - Music of the Big Band Era
"It Don't Mean a Thing, If It Ain't Got That Swing"
Let's return to Memory Lane, back to the late 30s and early 40s, the Big Band era, and enjoy a sentimental escape from the mundane, for the excitement of Swing music, a popular style that left a permanent mark on the American lifestyle.
Easton Choral Arts Society, under the direction of Wes Lockfaw, presents their Fall concert "IN THE MOOD," Sounds of the Big Band Era. The chorus will be accompanied with a big band. The concert will be held at the St Michaels High School auditorium on Saturday, October 25 at 7:30pm and Sunday, October 26 at 4:00pm.
Swing with us to the melodies of "Moonlight Serenade," "In the Mood," "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and many more of your favorite tunes that brightened the depression years and played a major role in lifting morale overseas and on the home front during World War II.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for students and are available on our website, www.eastonchoralarts.org, tele: 410-200-0498, Crackerjacks store or from chorus members.
