AS220 FOO FEST 2014
Foo Fest, AS220's annual summertime block party bash, returns to Empire Street in downtown Providence on Saturday, August 9th, 2014 to bring you 12 hours of music, art, performance, kid and family-friendly activities, DIY technology, food and drink, and much more!
MUSIC:
AS220 is extremely pleased to announce that the legendary PSYCHIC TV will be headlining the 2014 edition of our annual Foo Fest.
Formed in 1979, out of the termination of Throbbing Gristle, by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson, Cosey Fanni Tutti, and Geoff Rushton, PSYCHIC TV has continued to blaze trails in the realms of music, video, performance, art, and more. Still fronted by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, PTV3 in 2014 also includes Jeff Berner, Jess Stewart, Alice Genese, and Edley O'Dowd.
As always, we also bring you 12 hours worth of Providence and RI-centric acts who will be performing throughout the day and night! This year's lineup includes (but is not limited to):

Foo Fest is completely kid and family friendly from 1pm until sunset! This year, families will enjoy hands-on artsy, crafty, and techy activities and demos courtesy of KidoInfo, the AS220 Industries, and more!
9th Annual Providence Anarchist Bookfair:
Every year, this radically-geared book fair offers a chance to share ideas, meet like-minded folk, and support the exchange of knowledge and the written word, with representation from both radical publishers and booksellers, and local and regional collectives and organizations. SUPPORT RADICAL READING IN THE STREETS!
FOOD AND DRINK:
Once again, the street will be jam-packed with food trucks and vendors from the city and neighboring communities offering a veritable smorgasbord spanning many cultures and diets (yes, carnivores, vegetarians, vegans - we've got you all covered!), including AS220 FOO(D), Julian's, Like No Udder, and more to be announced!
About Foo Fest:
AS220 has been hosting an annual celebration, under the name Foo Fest or Fools Ball, for 18 years. In 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013, AS220's Foo Fest drew over 5,000 attendees to downtown Providence from across the region. Recent efforts to define and brand AS220's "Foo Fest" and the success of recent years' events ensure the festival's annual attendance and reputation as a destination event outside the state will only continue to grow.
