Dede Nibler is a woman with dynamic energy and amazing musical talent and is now the only Master Director of a small chorus in the World earning that title on March 24, 2007 when VU earned an amazing 621 points at their Regional Competition.
During Dedes childhood, she would often harmonize with her three sisters while singing around the piano or working around the home. With her love for music and the support of her family, Dede received a B.S. degree in Music Education from the University of Illinois with a double major in voice and piano.
After being introduced to barbershop harmony in the mid-70s, Dede performed in many top quality quartets including Fourth Place International Medalists, Main Event. Dede directed the California Heartland Chorus for many years, leading them to Regional championships and impressive International finishes. Dede retired from directing in 2001, but a few months later she was persuaded to start a new small chorus and Voices Unlimited was born. Dede continues teaching the beauty of harmony as a choral music teacher in the Fresno Unified School District. She also directs the BHS Gold Note Chorus of Fresno and is the Musical Director for the local production of 'New Wrinkles Review'.
